What you’ll learn

Mindfulness is a practice that can improve your quality of life by helping you reduce stress and reactivity, be present and more alive, and cultivate calm and well-being.

Through a combination of lecture, practice, and discussion, this course will introduce you to several facets of the vast topic of mindfulness – and, importantly, provide you with tools to apply in real life.

  • What is mindfulness?
  • Mindfulness of body (The breath is your teacher)
  • Soothing reactivity (We have choices)
  • Mindfulness of emotion (Developing the capacity to feel)
  • Mindfulness of thought (Yes, you are normal)
  • Cultivating kindness (That’s love and compassion! ♥)
  • Mindful communication
  • Meditation (The formal practice of mindfulness)
  • Mindfulness in daily life (The real field of practice)

The course introduced several types of mindfulness and helped me practice the new techniques with ease. Christine’s thoughtful approach to teaching made the experience peaceful and tangible. As a mother of three small children, I truly appreciated this course to help me implement mindfulness into my life.

The course was great! The classes themselves were very interesting and informative, and relaxing. I liked the mixture of lecture, meditation practice, and discussion. The class has helped me jump start my home meditation practice, and for this I am very grateful. Thank you!

Meet your teacher

Christine is a warm, engaging, and lighthearted teacher that is passionate about sharing mindfulness practices for real life – where it matters most.

She trained with renowned teachers Mark Coleman and Martin Aylward and is certified through The Mindfulness Training Institute (MTI) and the International Mindfulness Teachers Association (IMTA; in progress).

Christine started practicing mindfulness as a parent of three young children at the suggestion of her Ayurvedic doctor, who recommended meditation for restlessness, including sleeplessness. After six weeks of consistent practice, she slept soundly through the night – and noticed other benefits from her practice, including less reactivity with her children and more calm.

Now, with a deepened practice, more experience, training with world-renowned teachers, and the realization of the many benefits of mindfulness, she has the privilege of sharing the practice with other moms, parents, and caregivers. Christine continues to practice daily through formal meditation and in the broader field of life – where parenting three adolescent boys provides boundless opportunity for her continued learning and growth.
